DIY MEDIA BLOG

Through learning about riot grrrl movement, I fell in love with zines. I've published quite a few of them, mostly with feminist and queer agenda: Bloody Mary, Femidom, Q_Kvér. With other zinesters, I also did some zine workshops with kids and young adults.

As a passionate zinester, I wrote my Master thesis on alternative media and the organizational routines of the production process. I also collect print zines and books about them. I love bookbinding and paper art work.

I understand media as a great arena of social and cultural battles. Economic, political and cultural bodies fight over meaning - and power. Knowing what is going on under the surface where the meanings are fabricated gives a great advantage. I'd like to encourage anyone interested lift the veil and see. And moreover, to enter the arena with their own perspectives.

 

Cooperation, especially in the field of:

• publishing on alternative media and media education;

• media education training and

• running projects on media education for the youth

in the Czech Republic and abroad will be highly appreciated.
